Anastasia suffered a hard-fought 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 loss to world No. 21 Julia Goerges in the first round of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix on Tuesday. The match lasted two hours and 14 minutes.

Nastia started strong in the first set, winning all her service games and breaking the German once to take the set 7-5. But Goerges came back in the second set, breaking Nastia once and taking advantage of the shift in momentum to claim her 16th match win of 2012.

In doubles, Anastasia is looking to win her second title of the season partnering Lucie Safarova. In the first round, they confront Germans Angelique Kerber and Andrea Petkovic.
